Oh no is that how big it all is - my plan is to go and pick mine up tonight from the pharmacy. My hospital is in London though so it'll be a bit of a trek if I have all that to carry! I wonder if I can take it all out of the boxes!
The big white box was a cool box, only had 4 smaller boxes inside which need refrigerating but the brown box was pretty full, nothing that wouldn't fit in a bag or two π x
That's great! It is all very surreal isn't it? Good luck with your cycle x
Definitely surreal, we expected it to take months and months but we've been quite lucky as first appt at fertility clinic was 4th June (it's been 8 months since we saw GP). I hope yours is going well ππ
I also start mine on Tuesday for the first time. Feeling very nervous.
How great to find someone at exactly the same point! I had a go yesterday with an empty syringe l, just to get over the initial nerves of stabbing myself and it was ok! I worry over how much of a monster I'm going to turn into π Our parents know we are having IVF but we stopped telling them dates to reduce added pressure but I know my mum will tell the difference when I'm on the meds. How has your 'journey' been so far?x
It's been ok really, there was a bit of a delay with test results and things coming back but can't complain really it has come round quiet quickly.
My husband and I have decided that he can give me the injections, I think I will just get to nervous/excited and make my hands shake. Our families know we are having IVF but we have told them at a certain point we won't really talk about it as we would like that if and when the time comes it will be a bit of a surprise to them.
How have things gone for you? Xx
That's our thinking about families too. It's been tough, completely unexpected. And I don't see many people with the same issue we have (my husband only produces very low numbers of sperm, his last sample had 27 in the whole thing) so there's a lot of uncertainty for us. We had a bit of a lull too, waiting for chromosome tests etc. x
Wow your story sounds identical to ours! βΊοΈ
I have 4 sisters and the only one without a child so really do feel alone sometimes. It's comforting to know someone knows how I feel. X
I'm the youngest of 6 and have 10 nieces and nephews altogether, we got married a year ago so people are in overdrive constantly asking when we're having kids, it's a nightmare! And of course everyone in the world is either announcing pregnancy or due to give birth! Thank you so much for responding π π
There is also 6 of us also!! I have a younger brother and a younger sister and three older sisters. I have 5 nieces and nephews and a 6th one due in December. We got married three years ago, and my in laws haven't had any grandchildren yet so have always asked why we haven't had a baby yet, it got so annoying, but as soon as we sat them down and told them the reason they have been really supportive and patient. X
Hi there I am also at the beginning of the process. I have a few injections to go then it's egg collection! I have also a lot of nieces and nephews and the odd one with no children.. Been married 3 years.
All the best for you xx
Hi Mel30, thanks for the response. How have your side effects been? It's such a relief to find people in the same sort of situations π x
For me the side effects were hot flushes and a bit fainted sometimes. Overall it's been good and no trouble. I know what you mean with this site, it's reassuring to be able to share experience. We haven't told anyone we are going through it. My parents in law know we have been referred but they don't know it's happening right now. We'll see what happens! I am positive and preparing that it might not work the first time! Keep me posted on your story would love to hear x
