Stressing
Stress is the worst thing you can do, try and relax Sam101. I know it's easier said than done but there's lots going on inside at the moment so it's completely normal to feel twinges & cramps. I would maybe recommend you read a good book or watch a box set and try and take your mind off things as the 2ww feels like forever. Sending you a big hug π x x
Thank you noodles. I think because we have had 2 negatives im really hoping this time we get our Christmas miracle to. Im trying not to think about it but it is hard as you know yourself. Chrustmas celebrations should keep me occupied hopefully. Any other advice? Xx
Aw fingers crossed for another wee xmas miracle π I didn't stress about what I ate for the first time. I did relax but I had periods of stress too. I went for a relaxing facial and drank some pineapple juice and ate fresh pineapple (not every day mind you). Apart from that I just tried to keep myself occupied so I didn't think about every twinge. Was it a 3 day transfer or a 5 day transfer you had? x x
I hope we have a xmas miracle to. I have been trying to eat pineapple every day as i have read it's meant to help although i dont think there is any proof in this mind. Im slso keeping as high a protein diet as poss and drinking as much water as humanly possible. we had a 5 day transfer which is the same as what we had last time xx
Hi Sam,
I was just like you during the 2ww, with pains that felt like my period would come on any minute! I also had 2 embryos transferred and it turns out they both implanted. So the pains are possibly a bit of implanting, stretching, a bit of side effect from the progesterone and I also believe there is some trapped wind/constipation going on at this point. A peculiar side effect I had was an upset tummy a day or 2 after transfer and I think this was from implantation as I had it before with previous pregnancies. It seems to be one of the signs for me. The pains calmed down after the 2ww, although I was still getting the odd pulling sensation, particularly on my left side. I even had a little bleed at 4.5 weeks but all was well at my 2 scans and I'm 10.5 weeks now. Just keeping everything crossed my 2 little ones are still doing well at my next scan.
I would say to you, keep your feet up, take all the help you can get from your partner, don't lift a finger, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein and occupy yourself with box sets or take up a craft. I do knitting, which is great for keeping me off google when I have a project on the go. It's scary what you read on Google, even now I'm freaking out about my babies!! Best to step away from it. Oh, and also don't bother symptom watching because realistically, you won't have any until after your bfp. Any 'symptoms' you think you have are probably due to progesterone. You'll drive yourself mad if you symptom watch. π
Thank you tlove. Congratulations on your fab news, twins that is fantastic!! I hope your pregnancy goes well and both your little ones are ok and growing well. Thanks for the advice, what you said is true and i need to take it board and stop winding myself up. Just have to think about me and my 2 little embryos. Keeping everything crossed mind. Take care. When is your next scan? Xx
Thanks Sam - Next scan is 13th Jan, so still ages to wait! I will be nearly 14 weeks by then and my last scan was at 8 weeks so it feels like a long stretch.
It's easier said than done to relax, believe me I know!! But you've done all you can to make this successful so just keep that in mind. Try going for walks, it helps clear the head and even better if your partner joins you. If necessary, think about counselling. I've been seeing one since last year and find it is a great outlet for all my concerns.
Your next scan will be here before you know it now tlove. Let me know how you get on. Im sure everything will be ok and you have a great pic. Make sure you take it easy to. Thanks for your advice i really appreciate it. I keep overthinking i will drive myself mad over the first week never mind the two. Hope you have a fab xmas xx
Try to ignore any symptoms you have during the 2WW as it really doesn't indicate one way or another whether it has worked! I had cramping type pains in the first few days after implantation and went on to have BFP even though I was CERTAIN my period was on the way! Good luck! Try to distract yourself and not overthink things (harder said than done, I know!) XX
Thanks emblazes. Its so hard to switch off when you are used to some things happening. Im going to try my best as i will go bonkers otherwise. Thanks for the advice. Congratulations on your bfp. I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy and enjoy your xmas xx
Unfortunately I discovered yesterday it was a missed miscarriage so not a great Christmas for us this year!! I went walking every day during the 2WW and it really helped the thoughts swimming round and round my head X
Im so so sorry to hear your sad news. Sorry i said about having a good xmas. Now is the time to look after yourself and spend some quality time with your husband/partner and give yourself time to get over this. If the weather improves i think i will go for a little walk when i can. i hope things get better for you and you get your dream eventually. Take care xx
