Anyone had OHSS and had their embryo transfer delayed? There is a possibility of this happening with my cycle.

Thanks

Yes - I had my trigger injection changed by the clinic to try and reduce the chance of OHSS but I still got it. As a result I was told after EC that I couldn't have the ET so had a frozen cycle about 3 months later. I don't know how close you are to EC but your clinic may be able to advise you on any steps you can take e.g. eating a high protein diet. I did get pregnant but sadly had a miscarriage. Since then I've only been allowed to follow the short protocol and am monitored much more closely to try and prevent having it again. Let me know if you have any specific questions xx

I was at high risk of OHSS as had 24 eggs collected and was advised initially to freeze all the embryos. But then as only one became a top quality embryo we had that transferred fresh at 2 days. I did have some symptoms about a week later which gave me hope implantation had happened. I luckily only had some bloating and none of the sickness and diarrhoea I know some people do get. I was at work after 6 days post collection as I had a lot of pain following collection of that many eggs. It is a decision you and your clinic will make at the time depending on how things look on the day, I didn't know until the day of transfer that we were going to do it that day. The clinic did scan me on day 2 to check how much fluid had collected and that looked OK so that gave us the green light. Good luck with the cycle and transfer whenever that happens xx

Hi my transfer was delayed back in April after my 2nd cycle and all embryos were frozen, however I had severe ohss and hospitalised for almost 2wk. On my first cycle I had mild ohss and was quite unwell but was still able to proceed with transfer. I'm sure your clinic will give you the best advice and will do what is best for you at the time. Don't be disheartened if transfer cannot go ahead as it will give your body time to recover before transferring. Good luck Xx
