Hi Helen-54, it's a very exciting time, don't be nervous. Everyone in the hospital were amazing when I had mine, so friendly and reassuring. I'm sure your hospital will be the same.

The upside is the anaesthetic they give you is great! You don't know anything about the procedure and when you wake up you feel great, no groggy after effects. I chilled out for about 3 hours afterwards as my husband had to take my eggs in an incubator and go and do his part, so I had plenty of time to rest. The consultant came out to talk to my husband and I after to tell us he got more eggs than the scan indicated so that was great news! Although I don't remember that conversation as I was still out of it! :-)

Do take some food with you as you will be hungry after your procedure as you won't be able to eat anything before hand.

I had 2 days off work to relax and chill but I was absolutely fine and felt good, couple of twinges in the lower stomach area but nothing too painful.

Good luck and I hope they get some happy eggs xxx

Hi Hannah143, Thankyou for your message, made my emotional evening feel better 😊 Transfer should be on Saturday, did you transfer? How was this for you? Did you take time off work? Thankyou for your support and hope your journey is successful x

Try not to be nervous. Mine didn't hurt and I got up 5 mins after I was out went to the toilet and was waiting for them to say I could go. I had minor cramp that day, I bought a heating pad which was great but honestly I was fine. I stayed in bed for the rest of the day and was back at work 8:30 the next morning. If you were over stimulated then I imagine you'd be more comfortable. I had 13 eggs in total. Good luck and try not to stress as honestly you won't know much of what's going on because of the sedation. X

Thankyou, sounds like yours went really well! Did you transfer? If so how was it? Did you take time off? Hope your journey is successful, Thankyou X

Hey honey

I've done two ec both were quite painful because in Spain they do not use anaesthetic. After the first one I had ohss for 2 weeks, the second one I was walking the dog 2 days after.

My advice, grit a bare the collection, this is the moment you have worked for. Hey ask the eggs out!!! After, until transfer use ice packs they are amazing.

Once your embies are inside you it's only paracetamol, no ice, no got water bottles xx

Remember every woman and every body is different.

All the luck in the world x

Hello

I found EC completely fine. I was made to feel completely at ease. The sedation was fine and I was well enough to go out for lunch will my hubby afterwards! Aside from a bit of mild cramping over the next few days which they put down to bruising from the procedure, I was completely back to normal and back to work the next day.

Good luck! I hope it goes well x

Hello, yes it went well and I had a 5 day blastocyst transfer. ET is absolutely fine. A little uncomfortable but no more than a smear. You can see your little embryo move into place on the monitor which is amazing. The whole thing is very surreal!

Good luck x

Hi Helen. I think it's good to expect to feel a bit rough afterwards at least you will be pleasantly surprised if you're not. I personally am still sore now after 1 week and there was no way I could have gone to work last week as paracetamol was not touching the pain! But I hope you'll be fine and best wishes too xxx
