I haven't had a period since stopping BCP three years ago and even when they've tried to induce a bleed with Norethisterone it's has never worked. I am now waiting to start my first round of IVF and was put on Microgynon for 21 days in the hope I will have a withdrawal bleed. I finished the pill on Wednesday and started to have a tiny but of brown spotting last night which is maybe a tiny bit more today. My clinic has said it must be a full flow bleed before 12pm to count as day one so unlikely we will start tomorrow.
I'm so scared the bleed just won't come and I will have to wait even longer. Just feel so scared and frustrated at my body.
Sorry for the rant everyone xx

Hi Spongey. So annoying when this happens. Try and be encouraged that they will get you bleeding again, just may take another round or two. Hopefully all will soon be sorted. Diane
My bleed came this morning so am starting FSH injections tomorrow. First scan is then day 8. Is that about normal? I'm on the antagonist protocol if that means anything?!
Hi Vicky. Oh that’s great news and such a relief for you. Microgynon is famed for making you wait!! The aim of using an antagonist is that by not suppressing (down regulating) your ovaries with nasal spray, the stimulation injections work with your own hormones and then the antagonist just stops you ovulating before egg collection. The benefit of using this type of drug is that an antagonist cycle means all the drugs are usually given within a 2 week period of time so it ends up as a shorter process. Hope that helps and massive luck! Diane
