I haven't posted for a while, but I wonder if somebody could help with a question.
I have been on Gonal-f for two days. I had an estrogen blood test this morning and the consultant has asked me to double the dose for the next three days. Does anybody knows what this means?
Thanks!

It means you are needing more. It could be for a variety of reasons! I was a nonresponder, so I went from 225 to 450 then finally 600, it was like I was flushing it as fast as I was taking it. Sometimes your upped because the eggs aren't growing fast enough. Lots of reasons.
They start with as small of dose as possible to avoid OHSS and still get maximum results.
Mine was increased because my eggs weren't growing as fast as they wanted. It's all quite normal, try not to worry - easier said than done. Sending you lots of love and luck Xx
It's just because it's better to start you on the lowest dose to avoid OHSS as everyone responds differently so better off starting you low and increasing than risk complications.
Mine was increased from 300 to 450 last time as I wasn't responding well to it and my follicles were still small at my first scan. On this round of treatment they started me straight on 450. I suppose it's all a bit of trial and error but I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about.
Thanks, ladies for your responses. I saw the consultant on Saturday and he said my estrdiol was lower than he exoected, so he decided to up the dose, but that it was just a strategy to increase recruitment. At least he hasnt increased it again, so I take that as a positive. Going for my first scan tomorrow. We will see...
