Hi squared. Gentle exercise, walking and swimming should not be a problem. Just make sure that you can rest for a few days during egg retrieval and after embryo transfer to give your body time to recover from all the procedures and while implantation is taking place. Good luck! Diane

Hi! I'm a runner and was told to stop that and just walk and do gentle exercise as soon as I started Gonal-f. Apparently your ovaries get swollen and it's not good for them to bounce around! I felt bloated so wouldn't have wanted to run anyway. they said the bike at the gym was ok (gentle) but not the cross-trainer. I've lost 3 stone from running so am really struggling not doing it - I had ICSI and am 7dp2dt. Today I had a gentle walk to and from work and am just back from an evening walk - it has added up to 16km/10miles!! I feel great and I'm certain that it is good for my egg - I'm hoping it has sent lots of oxygen round my body.

Good luck!

Ps. This is my first time and i'm trying to stay positive but have promised myself that if test day is bad and I get a BFN, I'll treat myself to a run followed by a HUGE glass of red wine :)

Karen82 when did you start the walking after ET? Had my transfer today and just want to make sure I keep active as I'm use to going to the gym a lot. But walking sounds good.

Hi! Excellent re your transfer - hope it was ok! I had mine last Friday and had a gentle walk round my village on both weekend days and then walked 3 miles on Monday :) I had a few wee cramps over the weekend so walked quite slowly but felt ok on Monday. I've had cramps on and off all week so have just listened to my body and walked as much or as little as I felt up for. Good luck!!

Transfer went ok thanks. Thanks so much for the information. That's really useful. I might go for a walk tomorrow and see how my body reacts. Good Luck to you too x
