Hi All

We are about to start our IVF treatment with ICSI (short protocol) and I'm keen to hear about others experiences and successes. We are both the wrong side of thirty )as we keep being told) 37!

Hey Hun I'm in the 2ww after short protocol too. Originally due to sperm morphology for the husband which then at EC turns out was then fine! I found out when had first app at clinic that my amh was lower for age (33).

Once I got my last period I phoned the clinic and you are on day 2 for a scan and injections starts. I was on gonal f 300 then upped to 400 after 4 days as well as cetrotide.

Scans were ok but I found them very uncomfortable!

I got 6 eggs last Friday and had a 3 day transfer on Monday gone on a 7 cell embryo. Praying and talking to it everyday to grow!

My clinic are amazing so hopefully will have a positive outcome but it's all up to my embryo ana body now!

And no way is 37 the wrong side in my opinion! I hate comments like that x

Hi thanks for your reply. Did all your eggs fertilise? Were you offered blastocyst? How did you find the egg collection and transfer? Have you been eating anything particular in the lead up to starting treatment and now during the two weeks.

I hope it all works out for you, do let me know how it all goes. X

Hi!

No only 4 were mature enough to fertilise. I did icsi. And only 3 survived. One implanted on day 3. Wasn't offered blastocyst because in my clinic if you don't have many eggs they do a day 3. the other 2 they cultured to day 5 in hope of freezing but weren't strong enough to.

I won't lie I found EC very painful. I was under sedation. BUT it was quick ana staff were amazing! I will do it all again if I have to but hope not to.

ET was bit easier but I had such a full bladder and the nurse kept pressing the uktra sound down so they could get a good view but I grinned and barred it as I said to them do what ever I don't care I just want it in there!

Staff at clinics are great they will look after you so well. They know all the fears etc

Where abouts are you based?

Food wise no not really. I did try cut out stuff I suppose like chocolate and that. And eat more veg and white meat. I stopped alcohol back start of September aswell.

I've eaten some Brazil nuts as read some stuff that it's good?

TBH what will be will be. I will be gutted it it's a BFP obviously. I am being positive and also talking to me embryo and rubbing my stomach!

Oh I also go fertility acuptunture. I have been since end of August.

Thanks Hun x

Hi dear, I hv had ivf with icsi..we had 3 mature embryos in our first cycle August 2016 n they transferred one embryo n two were frozen. I got pregnant but miscarried in September ...again we had FET from our frozen embryos in October n that time both embryos were transferred because 1 was 4 cells n one ws 2 cells (became 2 from 4)...they were 2dt..now I m 5 weeks 4 days pregnant n my first scan is on December 8..so ivf with icsi s really better I think...Good luck.

Congratulations! That's given me hope. How did you find the egg collection and transfer? Did you do anything in particular in the time leading up to collection and transfer and during the two week wait?

The egg collection and transfer went fine, had a bit of cramping, but apart from that was fine. I couldn't believe how quick the collection and transfer was. I had my egg transfer on a Saturday and had already booked the Monday after as holiday so just rested them days then went back to work on the Tuesday. During the 2 week wait I had convinced myself it hadn't worked, so when I came to do the test and it was positive I just sat there looking at it not speaking for about 5 mins, the longest I have ever been quiet lol, in the end my husband took the instructions off me and said its positive I then got him to take a photo of the test incase the line disappeared lol. Xx

That's good to hear. Did you eat or drink anything specific? I'm going to have two weeks off, I'm a headteacher so avoiding stress is quite difficult. X
