Hey Hun I was really worried about the injections initially but have actually found the whole process ok....from administering them to the aftermath so to say. I've found my belly to be a little swollen & bruised on times and find im more tired than usual but nothing us ladies cannot cope with :-).
Wishing you lots of luck hun for 2 weeks time! x
Thank you!! My mum keeps saying I'm going to be a moody cow and it's really putting me off!!! LOl!!! Did ur treatment work? X
Lol I've probably been more anxious than moody as ultimately you want everything to go smoothly! My hubby's been pretty good too & just laughs at me if I am a moody cow on the odd occasion lol.
I'm on my 2WW hun so I'll know soon if egg transfer has worked. Fingers & toes crossed! Xx
Have everything crossed for you and your husband!!! So exciting!! Love the fact your hubby can laugh!!!my husband will be the same I'm sure!!! Its amazing how much support these men give us!!! X x
Hi Lucyireland26 i am also starting ICSI 11 of March with my first tablets.. cant believe it after all that waiting .. must say i feel really calm at the moment so hope it will stay this way all tips and experiences are more than welcome how are you getting ready for treatment do u have any tips xx good luck to u xx
Hey!! Thanks for your reply!! I start hormone injections on 9th march!! I have reduced my caffeine intake and now on de-caffeinated. I am having a massage and some reiki but like you I feel very calm and trying my best not to stress thinking positively and completely aware in the back of my mind it may not work this time!! Not sure we can do any more than that!! All my fingers crossed so exciting ! X
Hi! I've been on the injections for 10 days now and only really in the last couple of days been feeling bloated and a bit sore. Once you're over the first injection it's no bother, far less painful than getting a blood test I think and luckily I've had no bruising at all. This is my first IVF cycle. Good luck with your treatment x
I was exactly the same when I started. Just breathe
The injections are a breeze once you get that first one over and done with, I would recommend doing them yourself rather than letting your partner do them.
Best of luck to you xx
Oh and just for info - I had my first round of ICSI and got my BFP on Saturday xx
Can I ask why you recommend not to let my partner do the injections? Is this your first round of Ivf? X
I found the injections fine as well. I had acupuncture which helped so you may want to give that a go.
Hi, the injections weren't too bad, I just felt a bit bloated after a week or so. Mood was mostly ok, few off days, mostly stressing the follicles weren't growing ok (they did!). I was on the short cycle last time. Start my next attempt soon, having long cycle so not sure how my mood will be when down regulating. Good luck xx
Hi, as everyone above says, the injections are fine and you do get used to them. You will be a pro soon enough! They don't hurt and I also found it easier just to do it myself. I was also tired during the process but I put that down to the emotional side of things to be honest - it is a rollercoaster ride! One thing I would suggest is wearing things that are soft and not tight around your tummy if possible, as it might feel a little sore on the skin. Nothing major though.
I was on short cycle icsi and am now 5 days past my due date with our little girl - so if it worked for me it can work for you too! Try to stay positive as much as possible, relax and do nice chilled things to distract you. Lots of love and good luck!! xxx
HI I was on the short protocol so straight onto the menopur. I was on the highest dose too due to my terrible AMH levels. However I was fine all the way through really. Yes I felt bloated and the mixing of all the viles was a little stressful at first but the injections and side effects were fine. Try not to worry and just take each step at a time and each scan as a stage. Good luck
Hey i had my first round last year and lucky for me i had no symtoms but all of us ladys are diffrent hope all goes well with ur treatment goodluck. X
It's not as bad as you think I was a wimp first 2days an then u just get on with it they did make me emotional but nothing to worry about it's fine and it's defo more than worth it xx good luck
Hi there. I didn't have much mood swings, a bit emotional at times and according to the hubby had a shorter tolerance span lol but I didn't believe that. Found my appetite to have increased, could be from the 4 stamino grow I was taking so needless to say I put on some weight, more around the the tummy and hips. Believe that the treatment can make you put on weight as I usually have a fast metabolism and have not put on weight in the last couple of years but put on 9kg since we started last January. But our bodies are all different and I find the skinniest ladies at the clinic on their 4th or 5th attempt. Also experienced some cramping and an occasional side pain after about 8 days on the injection but the Dr said its normal because of the egg stimulation. Try acupuncture, works wonders for stress and they even believe they assist with the IVF. Good luck Hun...will give you lots more advice as you progress with the treatment but for now...one step at a time..hugs.
Hi, I had icsi and I found out two weeks ago it was successful which is totally amazing.
I was surprise at how easy I found both ivf & icsi. The injections are no bother - they are small & easy to do on your own. Before I started fertility treatment I was terrified of blood and needles now I take it in my stride.
I had no side affects & was up beat through the whole process. Just take your treatment one day at a time and stay positive knowing how worth it it will be.
Good luck!
Hi
I agree with Twin 1981. I'm someone that was terrified of blood, needles ... everything. Someone told me "you do what you need to do" and you do. The injections are not as bad as I thought - NEVER ever thought I'd say that. As for hormones and possible effects - apart from sore boobs and a bloated tummy I was much the same. No mood swings - or at least relating to the injections I don't think. I had positive and what if days but actually, YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR TAKING ACTION AND IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING I'm still on my 2ww and trying to stay positive. I'd say the 2ww is worse than any possible hormones of all the rest of it. I'm wishing you all the very best for you. Listen to your body, stop when/ if you need to.
Good luck x
Hello, Just wanted to wish you luck! I'm also starting our first IVF on 9th March so we're excited and anxious too. I'm going to book some reflexology to relax and take it easy. It would be good to know how you get on.
