How old are you?

In Notts i was told below 37 is 1 for safety reasons of the child and mother. After 37 is 2 since the probability of success is lower. I am 36 but 37 in July if it was up to me i would go for 2 but its not.

Hi,

I had 2 day 3 put back and am current,y 17 weeks with twins. Also had 2 frozens blasts last May which didn't take. I feel it's related to the embryo quality to be honest. Agree that they're better in natural envt though if they're going to work.

Good luck with your collection :-)

I would have thought you could have longer to decide with you want to do about transfer?

Before starting IVF, I hated the whole thought of the embryos going from day 3 to 5, as I was worried that we would end up with none, so we put real trust in the confidence the staff had when calling us.

Then I read in a natural pregnancy, the day 5 embryo would be situated in the uterus, whereas a day 3 would still be in the tube...that's part of the reason they like to go for day 5's....

Saying that, a lot of people have had success with just one day 3, so it's an impossible guessing game.

I'd never been pregnant before icsi, we had one day 5 transferred and it worked, but it ended in miscarriage at 10 weeks...what will I do next time? I don't know...I'm 36 now and I know they talk about preferring to only transfer one due to risks with increased chances of miscarriage etc...

I had a quick look at your past posts and see you've had success, previous miscarriages, a day 5 transferred and FET cycles...what was the transferred one that you got pregnant with?

In a lot of ways you just want them to tell you what would be best?!

I'm sorry I've not helped...I still wouldn't know what I would do :-(

Whatever decision you make, just have confidence in it and we all have our fingers crossed x

It seems a little unfair to make you decide now as surely it depends on how the embryos progress, how many there are etc. Maybe they just want to know if you'll consider day 5 if that's an option? If the doctors think they're likely to make it to blastocysts I would go by their guidance if you can. Good luck! X
