So I started my nasal spray for down regulation today and both times I have done it I have been left with a really runny nose for ages afterwards... think I may also have a small cold.
Does anyone know how long after the spray I can blow my nose? It's doing my head in sniffing constantly all day!!
Thanks in advance xx

I was considering using the spray for ease and less injections and the nurse said to me that she would always recommend the injections. As with the spray, you can't truly tell how much has been absorbed and if you have a cold it can affect this too....she also said you are going to be injecting yourself later on anyway, so you might as well get used to them.
It would probably be worth speaking with the nurses with your concerns and they can either give you more tips or discuss alternatives?

I had the same thing along with a sneezing fit - I started on Monday 15th December - spoke to the clinic on the Wednesday as I wasn't sure enough of the spray was staying in. They advised to give it a bit longer as it may just be my body getting used to the spray or I may have a slight allergy to it. Whilst the symptoms did ease a bit, they didn't disappear, so i opted to swap to the injections which I did on the following Monday. I didn't want to for the 3 weeks to be told I'd have to change to injections anyway and go for another few weeks! I've got my next scan tomorrow so we'll see if we made the right choice! Good luck with yours but just have a chat with the clinic.
Thank you for your responses. I am doing down regulation in preparation for ET, I have already had collection therefore no injections are required. I have to say that I am willing to put up with the runny nose if I don't have to inject because I had prolonged injections for the first stage of my treatment.
Thank you for the advice and I wish you both all the luck in the world for your journey xx
Hi. Just read your post. The spray is absorbed really quickly, even if you have a cold, however you should blow your nose before using the nasal spray. Good luck with the transfer. Diane
