The dreaded nasal spray!

Hi 🙋🏽‍♀️ hope you’re all ok! What a weird time to be going through all this, lockdown, Christmas and IVF, it’s all a bit crazy!

Start my dreaded nasal spray tomorrow, I hated it last time, made me feel awful!! Tell me I’m not alone!!

Hi there Jam-master,

I am starting downregulating tonight, although injecting using buserelin. Am I right in thinking the nasal spray does the same thing?

I have only used buserelin once for a mock cycle in August this year. It made me very tired, a bit emotional and I had one hot flush, so not too bad. Hope you get on ok with your sprays!

I should be having one of my frozen embryos transferred towards the end of January. I have waited almost 12 months to get to this point and now feeling a bit nervous now its time to begin the process. Wishing you lots of luck with your cycle xx

Hi! Yeh I think it’s the same. I had an injection a few weeks ago but it wears off so that’s why I need to top it up with the spray. Have to take it 4 times a day.

I’m the same, makes me feel really tired and irritable and because it’s a nasal spray it messes with my sinuses. Hopefully won’t be on it too long, go for my 2nd scan on Tuesday so hopefully my lining will be thick enough!!

That’s a long wait for you! We had a miscarriage in Feb then lockdown happened so have been waiting since then.

I’m sure you are nervous, I am a bit too, but excited too, you always have to have hope xx

Ahh I see..you are a bit further along in your cycle than me then. My baseline scan is 13th Jan. Sorry to hear of your miscarriage, its so awful to go through this process and then that happens on top. Fingers crossed for your 2nd scan xx

Hello It gave me the worst headaches ever and make me feel so depressed ! I had it on my cancelled FET due to thin lining and it was fine the second time I took it was so bad ! Just keep saying it’s for a good cause hopefully 🤗good luck xx

Yeh that’s what I think, just keep thinking it’s for a good reason and isn’t forever! I’m off work just now too so one less thing to worry about!!

That will definitely help I was off work too and most days I wouldn’t have made it anyway because head was that sore I am over 12 weeks now so was worth it ! Soon as u stop the nasal spray it makes u feel better straight away

Congratulations!! I did a fresh transfer a few years ago and now have a 3 year old, it was my last frozen transfer with the nasal spray that ended in miscarriage so I think I have a negative memory associated with it as well which doesn’t help.

Thinking more positively this time round so 🤞🏼

The fresh embryo transfer worked not frozen is that correct.

What was the reason for the fertility problem the first time, how old you?

I am waiting for meds to be delivered and due to start the nasal spray around the 8th of jan. This will be my first round of ivf so a little nervous!

I think it’s natural to be nervous! I think because there’s so much unknown and a lot out of your control. We all just do the best we can and have hope. Keep me updated on your journey xx
