My husband and I have been trying to conceive for just over two years now and have been successful in falling pregnant twice but unfortunately I lost both. I have recently had a diagnostic laprascopy to find I have mild endometriosis which has been dealt with, it may or may not come back... Any way now feeling back to normal after my op and have had two periods since.. My husband and I thought lets try again and see what happens .. Any way my period is two days late and I did a pregnancy test today at about midday and it says not pregnant. If I start my period that's okay as at least I know where I am.. No period and not pregnant is confusing me :-((( .. Is it possible that the test is wrong because I did it in the middle of day and not first thing this morning or should it say pregnant if I am...
I hope you are all having a lovely day XXX

Apart from the endo your story is similar to mine. 2 natural pregnancies ending in miscarriage. I missed my period in June and assumed that I was pregnant as we had starting trying again. I did 2 pregnancy tests and couldn't understand why they were negative. I retested again after 3 days and still negative so I went to my GP. I was due to see the NHS consultant a week after that so he said to get him to do blood tests to check for ovulation.
I had never missed a period before so was rather freaked out. I got my next period fine and everything has been OK since. We started ICSI in September after private fertility tests showed there was a problem with hubby.
Try testing again and if it's still negative go to your GP. Although the tests say it's best to use them first thing in the morning they should still detect the pregnancy hormone. If you can't face it first thing wee in a clean container and dip the test strip in it later, it'll tell you how long to dip for in the instructions.
pm27 Thank you very much for your reply. It may sound silly but Ive just had a bit of a melt down. Its all so frustrating sometimes but I know ill be okay in a day or two.. I think how lucky I am compared to a lot of people out there... But all I would like right now is to know one way or another whether I am or not pregnant, so we shall try the test again in the morning if I haven't started my period by then ...
I'm sorry to hear that you are having similar problems and hope things happen for you really soon.. Im 35 so feel that time is ticking . I keep being told by friends, family that it will happen for you one day which is frustrating too but I know they mean well....
Anyways I hope to wake up tomorrow with more of a positive attitude whatever the outcome is ... Once again thank you for your lovely reply and take care of your self xxx
Meltdowns happen. Not knowing is really difficult, I really hope you get a positive test result. I'm 41, nearly 42, so know about time ticking by. At 35 you've got a few years left in you!
I had a down day yesterday but thanks to my mother in law, Diane on INUK helpline and a locum who listened I'm feeling better in myself this morning.
Your friends and family do mean well and probably don't know what to say and of course they want you to get pregnant.
Good evening . We did another pregnancy test first thing and unfortunately it said not pregnant again , Yes we understand we have a few years left and I have friends who have had babies in there 40's.. Do you have any children or are you still trying for your first.? Thanks again for your lovely replies
We haven't got any children so am really hoping that our second go at ICSI is successful. Acupuncture for hubby has been suggested by my osteopath. He seems up for that so we'll try that before the next round.
Hi pm27... I'm okay at the min thanks although had a bad morning being upset alot and ended up hiding in the toilets at work trying to sort my self out and ringing my husband.. We met at lunch in the end... I cant keep carrying on like this it happens most prob every month if not every other. I feel tired all the time, have my ups and downs but feels like I am down far to often so have made an appointment with my doctor to see if she has any suggestions. Perhaps I need some counselling to help me get through the bad times, Im not going to let this beat me .... ... I hope that your second lot of treatment works well for you and your husband... XXXX
I'm glad you're going to see your GP. You might need some time off work and perhaps medication to help the anxiety. I've been off work for nearly 2 weeks and am starting to feel better. My mum and mother in law are local so have been supporting me. You've been through a lot so might need time to let your body and mind to recover.
We've got a counselling session next week, I hope it will be useful for us both.
Hi pm27. Just thought I would let you know I have just done another pregnancy test and it still says negative . I think I have now accepted that I am not pregnant this time round . Still very confusing as I have had a little nausea this week and sore breasts so am taking it that my hormones are messing me around as think if I was pregnant it would def say pregnant by now . I have my appointment on the 16th to have a chat with my doctor.. I am gutted but my head is straighter now than it was a few days ago so am guessing this will happen from time to time.. I hope you get on well with your counselling session next week .. Let me know how you get on .. Have a nice weekend and take care xx

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a bit straighter in your head. Hopefully your doctor will be more sympathetic than mine was, maybe a female doctor will understand more.
Aww Thank you .. I actually started my period yesterday afternoon so that makes it a week late . Hormones hey. I am feeling a bit better and happier as I know what's roughly going on and I have fully accepted no pregnancy this month. Who knows maybe next month or the next and so on. I will still keep my appointment to see my doctor as need some help for when I am feeling low. Its not long until Christmas so am looking forwards to seeing all of the family and starting a fresh new year. Lets hope for a more successful year in 2015 for all of us who are trying to conceive and carry a baby full term ...
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now you know what your body is doing. I'm waiting for my period, the clinic said it would be at the beginning of December, ie roughly a month after the period after the negative test but I think my body wants to stick to it's usual date. Hopefully I'll come next week so we can have an idea of when we can start in January.
