Feeling more hopeful as HB frozen stored sample analysis has come back better than we thought, x5 lots at 11.7m & x2 lots at 9m...we know this is still low but his storage clinic assured him this is good enough to use for IVF & ICSI...just hope our Hospital finally agrees to refer us at our appointment next month....fingers crossed....

Hi that good that you know you have enough., why wouldn't your hospital refer you for ivf when you need it?
Every time we've been we think we are finally going to get referred, then there's been some issue that could've been discussed better and without taking further appointments, my weight, my thyroid, his sperm, then the frozen sperm was a problem, and every time we get shoved in and out in minutes them told to come back on 4 weeks, THEN next time he will refer us...I know it's the NHS and we are just a number but it's been very frustrating, I don't even know what happens once he does refer us...does this mean we're getting a go for decimate, is there funding, how long do we wait etc, totally clueless about it all as nothing gets explained. But hopeful after some positive news on the frozen samples.....we've done everything he's asked so maybe this time!
HI I wish you all the luck. everywhere must be different when my local hospital realised we had issues - zero sperm and low AMH then referred us straight away for IVF - this was at a different hospital as our local one didn't do IVF... that was when we hit all the waits and then found out we were refused there due to my AMH levels. I then went private and started injections sat. The private treatment happened within 6 weeks and that included the SSR
Thanks for your reply...if you don't mind me asking what are AMH? I see so many abbreviations on here I don't understand...
I know what you mean, im the same. AMH is a blood test that they do to test your ovarian reserve and likelihood of responding to the treatment. mine came back very low which is rubbish, means I don't have many eggs left and that I maynot respond to the treatment.
when you say your hospital needs to refer you - do you mean to another hospital?
Gosh thanks...you'd think they'd give you a booklet or something to explain all this?! The stage I'm at is, we saw our GP in Feb, he referred us to our local Hospital gynaecology unit for fertility testing, we've undergone several tests, had several appts and are waiting to be referred onto another Hospital that does IVF/ICSI treatment. No idea if what we've experienced is a normal procedure, but it has been very drawn out and am just desperate to be referred so we know we are funded and actually moving forward and will start treatments, whenever that may be. I'm sorry to hear about your AMH levels, is this something that can significantly lower your chances? What has your clinic said? X
HI very much so. I have started on a high dose of the IVF drugs on Saturday, the scan tomorrow will tell me if anything is happening or not.
We were the same got referred to the local gynae consultant who did the semen analysis. blood tests - like FSH, AMH etc. he then referred us straight to Manchester as locally they didn't do it.
seems really strange that you don't get referred straight away. we were referred to St marys in Manchester (that's where we were refused). however they make you repeat all your blood tests and scans etc before you even get to see anyone anyway.. I know we got refused the wait there for horrendous , would have ended up being a year and a half just for the SSR never mind then going for the IV/ICSI..
