Hi All, I had my first fresh transfer yesterday at day 5 and completely unexpectedly the embryologist dropped the bombshell that all 5 of our embryos are ‘slow growing’ and hadn’t quite reached blastocyst stage...our only update before that was everything was growing as expected. She recommended we transfer 2 embryos back so we did that but I can’t help thinking there’s not much hope😞 has anyone had any success with slow growing embryos?

Slow growth at Day 5 transfer :(
Hi. I transferred yesterday too’. What did you put bank a morula (day 5) or early blastocysts?
I’m presuming a morula but they didn’t tell us unfortunately, the embryologist didn’t even make eye contact. Seemed more concerned with getting us to re-sign consent forms than explaining, so we don’t know the stage/grade. We have a day 6 update today, so I will ask more questions. Sorry to hear you’re going through this to
Hey hun try not to be discouraged. My 2nd round I got 3 blasts 1 day 5 blast which was transferred but was BFN. The other 2 I was told were slow growing so they cultured until day 6 when they finally turned blast. They were frozen and my first FET of one I got a BFP. It did sadly end in miscarriage at 11 weeks but that would have been the fact the embryo was abnormal not because it was a day 6. There is actually not much difference in day 5 or day 6 embryos..I've done alot of research! So your 2 slower growing embies you have on board now have every chance! No doubt they would have turned blast on day 6 and that's fine 😊 best of luck to you lovely hope your 2ww doesnt drag too much 😘🤗❤
It’s nice to see your name pop up -how are you?
Hey hun I'm great thanks...almost 18 weeks now with my little miracle..which somehow happened naturally! Feeling so blessed and still hard to believe it's happening.. even with feeling little kicks now everyday 😍 how are you? I see your in your 2ww how you doing? 😘
Omg!!! This is amazing congrats I am so pleased for you and your news! I did think of you as I know you were on this site as long as me:).
Thanks hun..its incredible isnt it! I've heard of it happening before but after all the years of IVF and my diagnosis I never ever thought it would happen to me! Miracles really do happen 🤗 I hope you are well and your 2ww isnt going too slooow..I say that but I'm pretty sure it is! Always does doesnt it! Sending you soo much baby dust! 😘🤗❤
Hello, I had two slow growing embryos transferred in January. It was also a shock to me to find out on day 5 that we didn’t have any blastocysts as everything seemed on track until then. The embryos I had transferred were both at the morula stage. I thought we had no chance of success but we were very lucky that one of our embryos continued to develop after transfer and I am now 25 weeks pregnant. The chances of pregnancy may be statistically lower for slow growing embryos but I wanted to let you know that there is still hope. Your embryos are in best place now to give them the best chance. Wishing you all the best for your 2ww x
