Gonal F and cetrotide

Hello ladies, any information or advice you can give me on these medications? Will be starting towards the end of august.

I was a bit shocked about the size of the needle for cetrotide. The needles didn't bother me before, ( I guess it's mind over matter and all for the best!!)

I was on different medication on my previous cycle.

Thanks

Hi are you doing the short protocol then? I started on the short on sat night - I started with menopur which is the same as Gonal F I think and I will be adding in the cetrotide on weds. I have to mix a lot of the menopur together so that had been a little tricky but the cetrotide is just one I think. The needle on the menopur I cant really feel. I can feel it slightly when its going in but nothing major. have you had your training yet?

Good luck to you

Hi! Yes I'm on short protocol this time-i think I've just gone ahhhh!! As the meds are different to last time, and I was fine with the injections before. We are off to the hospital on Thursday to go through the meds.

Thanks for your response- and good luck :))

Hi Hannahb84.If you are particularly worried about any pain caused by injecting, then pop and ask your GP for a prescription for some “Emla” cream or similar. This is a local anaesthetic of Lignocaine that you put on in a big “blob”, don’t rub it in, then cover it with a clear patch (need to ask GP for those too). Leave for 20-30 minutes and wipe off. Result – pain free injections! This cream comes in a single dose tube and you squeeze the lot on in a big “gob stopper” lump. No need to suffer! Good luck and I hope this helps. Diane

Been there and done that... it really isn't anything to worry about. It stings for a second and then it's done, once it's done it feels a bit itchy but it's nothing to worry about trust me :) Good luck x x x
