Why does ICSI fail?

If the embryo is transferred and put on the lining of the womb, how does this form of treatment fail? What doesn't happen at this stage? I am still a little confused by it all.

Hi I was told ICSI/IVF can fail for a few reasons when they implant the embryo, it might not find a place in the lining to implant or that the endometrium lining was not quite right or that the embryo was just simply not strong enough. x

I agree with Danielle. You have to consider why you ended up with ICSI in the first place - for me, it was becuase I only ever produced a tiny number of eggs. When ICSI failed, they came to the conclusion that it was linked to egg quality impacting on the ability of the embryo to survive unfortunately.

It could me egg or sperm quality who knows.. my partner has a low sperm count hence us using icsi only one embryo servived. We got a positive result but pregnancy ended at 10 weels for us..
