I've got mine on Monday. My egg collection was not an enjoyable experience and I was just wondering if anyone could share their experience of transfer... What does it feel like? What do you have to do after?
Thanks!

Hi
You need a really full bladder, I always found that discomfort the first bits. They'll be vaious checks to make sure you get the rightembrios, they'll talk you through the health of you embryos. .you'llhave an ultrasound on your tummy through to your womb so they can see where they are for the insertion. You then will hve a speculum inserted and then a really thin tube with the embryos inserted. you'll see this on the moniter, then they are released, a photo is taken. then you will either walk,or are wheeled in recovery. the last time i had it (successul) i waited for 30 mins listening to a meditation recording before emptying my bladder. you're then free to go.
good luck
x
Hi. It is very straight forward. No worse than a smear test. Hardest bit is having a full bladder! Takes 5-10 mins and then you're done. Nothing specific after. Just don't overdo it. Good luck!
Hello, I'm sorry to hear the collection part wasn't nice for you. I haven't had mine done yet and last night I was looking online for any videos on Ifv treatment. I didn't really find anything but I did find a couples ivf journey blog and as much as their video blogs were quite annoying, there was one video I found useful and it was them going through the transfer process. The husband recorded what went on in the room during transfer and i was amazed by what you could see on the scanning monitor. Incase it should help, the web address is somedaymama.wordpress.com
You will need to go through the more recent videos to find the one about transfer.
Good luck tomorrow and positive thinking for you x
Thank you all x
Good Luck for today.... Let us know how you get on x x x
Hi ... Embryo is on board. Grade 4 blastocyst so pretty pleased about that. We also have three to freeze but they will confirm tomorrow morning.
So the transfer was nothing like the egg collection (thankfully!) and hubby was with me. It was quite emotional and I think even the embryologist who has been looking after our embryos seemed really protective over it. Doctor was great and made me feel really at ease.
I was sat up a few minutes after transfer and within 10 minutes I was walking around.
I took the rest of the day off but am planning on going back to 'normal' as of tomorrow.
I feel absolutely fine at the moment just a little tired as did not sleep much last night (was excited and nervous!) so am planning an early night.
Thank you for your replies. They helped a lot.
So glad that it went ok, I've got my mock transfer and endo scratch on Thursday and feeling quite nervous about it! do you have to wait 2 weeks now to do a PT? x
Why do you have to have a mock transfer and whats the endo scratch do? It really was ok and not painful just a bit uncomfortable like a smear.
I've got to wait until 19th to test! So ten days.... Agh!
Good luck for Thursday.
Good luck for the next hard 10 days. Sounds like you have a good chance of getting the result you want. We go next week all being well.
Thanks... What are you going in for next week?
