Hi that's reassuring, . Thanks for that. I've been trawling internet since egg collection, this morning trying to find out, it wasn't clear who actually performs my procedure thanks x

In the clinic I had my first two cycles the nurses did the transfers but in my clinic now the doctors do them. So I guess it varies x

Hiya , I thought this may be the case it small clinics . In your first 2 cycles of embryo transfer was the nurse doing the ET on her own or with other staff thanks for replying x

Hi, it was a large clinic but I think they were so busy the nurses were trained. They had other staff there. But I prefer the clinic I am at now which has amazing nurses but is doctor led. X

That's the game in med profession get the nurse to train to do it. Your right if it's Dr led you will be more informed on the cycle we the regards follicles, drugs etc.I am not dissing nurse at all I'm one myself totally different speciality. But I think so much rides on these procedures the most experienced drs should do it. Where is go it's nurses that do the follicle check scans ,consult with drs about drugs. I have seen a Dr twice. The first consultation and today at egg collection. I'm paying for my treatment so I would want to have an expierencd Dr, doing the transfer. X

Yes I can understand that. I had a bad experience when the nurse did one of my scans, she didn’t write anything down and called me the next day to ask how many follicles I had! Good luck x

In my case it was my doctor assisted by the nurse, it was all very straight forward

That's good to know. Thank you where you nhs or private.

For me it’s the consultant with assistance from embryologist and nurse. It was the same for both nhs and private x

At mine the lead nurse carried out the actual procedure, whilst a dr did the ultrasound part.

We had ours done about 4 months ago, a nurse was present but it was a consultant who did the transfer - best of luck x

2 nurses were at my transfer. One carried out the procedure while the other assisted. I hadnt even thought about who was doing it though. As long as they were competent that’s all that mattered. It was successful too. I only saw a consultant for my initial appt and the collection. Good luck

Wow, Im surprised that they have left the decision up to you! Did they give any hints as to what their thoughts were? Most clinics wait until day 5 so they can choose the front runner embryo and freeze the others. How many embryos are you having put back?xx
