Waiting times..?

We had our original tests/scans/SA done locally in Sept and then repeated in Dec. At this point we were referral to a tertiary centre in Manchester as we will need SSR then ICSI. We had to have everything repeated early Feb to find out today that we wouldn't even get our initial appointment till the end of July. In Feb when we having the blood tests etc again they said the wait would be 12 weeks when in reality we will have waited 8 months from original referral in Dec to even get a first appointment. I feel really gutted like it will be almost a year of wasted time...

then who knows after the appointment in July how long they will take to do the SSR.. just feel really upset and down..

Don't know if we should look into going private but its at least 7.5K.. how do you even start to choose a hospital.

Has anyone else had such a long wait? Feel really upset and helpless. never thought would be in this position in the first place... thanks everyone...

Yes!! I think mine has been going on for 2+ years now, I'm having private ivf but nhs scans, bloods operation. Unfortunately it takes a long time and is hard when your desperate to just get on with things! I havnt eve n had my first cycle yet xx

HI that sounds awful. you read on here that some people only have to wait a few months... how is it working that you are having IVF private but the rest on the NHS? Are you having it all at the same hospital? I was wondering if we could do some Private and then revert back to NHS but wasn't sure how what stood. is you get NHS funding why not have it all on the NHS? thanks

I'm not sure how we have managed this to be honest, we have to pay for the actual ivf and drugs but all blood tests scans etc have been donee on Nhs.
