no,not your fault. we have scans during the treatment so that we can be monitored an drug regieme altered if needs be- this is really common to increase it. So don't stress, if possible.

My wife and I had the same problem, its not your fault at all some bodies react differently to the drugs. the best thing to do is not let yourself get stressed. The doctors and nurses see this happen more often than not and increasing the drugs is quite normal. Hope everything goes well for you.

Hi I was on different medication but had a similar thing. my follicles weren't growing big enough so they scanned me a couple of days later and they still weren't as big as they needed to be so they told me to stop my meds. That was classed as a full cycle of ivf on nhs, on my 2nd cycle they upped my dosage from the start and that helped my follicles grow. Unfortunately both my 2nd and 3rd cycles were unsuccessful but I'm going to try 1 more time privately. If I'd known that's what they classed as a cycle I would have fought them tooth and nail to up the dosage and keep going so please be aware of this if they try to stop your meds. Good Luck

You really don't need to worry about that- it's definitely not your fault. I went from 150 to 250 and back to lower dose.It takes time to get it all right as different people respond differently to the same drugs. You will get there!x

Thank you so much for your replies everyone, it's so nice to here from people that are going through the same thing. Sometimes I just feel so alone. I'm always having to google questions I have :-/ I constantly feel like it's all my fault when things go wrong. Like did I drink enough water etc etc. We're going private with our ICSI. We've got an appointment this week to start meds again, so hopefully fingers crossed I get more than 2 eggs this time. I just feel like crying all the time. I feel like I put myself under too much stress to get it all right.

I am going through my first IVF cycle, I'm 42 and in my initial scan it looked like I had 7 maybe 8 follicles. They put me on gonal-f with a high dose of 300 (private clinic), along the way only 2 follicles were developing and finally after 12 days I got to 21mm for both. I'm no expert but after reading a few forums, I think if it were on NHS, I bet they would have abandoned this cycle. I feel very blessed that 2 eggs were retrieved however only 1 fertilised (ICSI) and developed very well to 2 cells and was transferred on day 2 - I am currently waiting to test on 16th April. I hope this helps you a little xx
