Been to docs twice but not had any help from them. My periods were regular before starting pill 16 years ago. Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience as I'm feeling a bit worried to say the least.

Stopped microgynon seven months ago and still not had a period.
Hi claire6. I feel that 7 months is a long time to wait for a period to re-start when stopping contraceptive treatments. However, I have known it to take up to 2 years in extreme circumstances. If you want to try for a baby, then I’m afraid you need to see your GP again with a view to him/her giving you some treatment to “kick start” you back into normal menstruation again. If you can’t get help from your GP, then ask for a referral to a specialist or visit your local Family Planning Clinic. Hope it soon gets resolved. Diane
Hi, When I came off my pill it took me 2 and half years to get my periods back. Went to docs several times and they just didn't give me any help whatsoever. Just keep on at docs as there is a tablet you can get to try help regulate ur periods. Hope you get the help you need. x
Thank you both for your replies. I'll get back to docs and keep annoying them until they do something. I'm sure worrying can't help! X
