Hi everybody

Hope u are all doing well!

I am 33week pregnant and it has been about 2weeks that I felt some kind of allergy or heat rasht on my stomach and under my breasts ! At first I felt itchy all over my stomach and there were very small red dots but after a few days they healed and got back to normal except for a part of the side of my stomach(about4-5cm) which got so painful with big rashes on it!

I was cold as well so didnt go to dr till today and he said it’s Shingles but u came too late and we can not do anything to stop it now!

Im just too worried about my baby! Does anybody know if it can affect the pregnancy and my baby or not?!! Dr said no but am still worried!

By the way I had Chicken pox when I was a child!

Thank u so much for your helps! xxxxx

Hi. Not sure but if the dr said not to worry then should be ok. All the major bits should be developed now at 33 weeks and baby just putting on weight. You could try the nct group in the community as they have more pregnant members who might have the same issue?

Hi. Thank u. Yes I think so! The dr didnt explain so much and just said not to worry but as I googled u r right and shongles r not harmful for pregnancy ,specially at the 3rd trimester!

I’ll try nct as well to reassure myself!

Thanx a lot and good luck!

Hi Paris. I realise how worried you must be, but in my experience as you have had chickenpox as a child, the shingles you have developed should be mild and bear so threat to you and your baby. It's rare to develop it, but obviously it c an happen. Hope you soon feel better. Thinking of you. Diane

Hi Paris. I doubt it very much as he/she will be protected from your previous chickenpox. The fact that it is clearing up means it was very mild. It may leave a stain on your skin for a few weeks but it is harmless. Diane
