wondering what the average sucsess rates are for having 2 frozen Blastocysts transferred at a time, and also what is the survival rate for them being thawed.
Hi I have decided when I have my froz... - Fertility Network UK
Hi I have decided when I have my frozen transfer in January, I am keen on having 2 of them transferred , I have 7 frozen in total and was
I'd check with your clinic about whether having two transferred is a good idea, it will depend on your personal circumstances. We had two transferred in Feb and got pregnant with twins (after 5 failed IVF attempts!), but then lost our twins at 22 weeks due to my cervical weakness and the fact that we were expecting twins. With twins there is nothing they can do to stop preterm labour... Anyway, apparently there's a 90-95% success rate with blastocysts surviving the freezing process (much higher than earlier stage embryos), so we're going to go one at a time from now... Each situation and person is different though!
Hi Jessin, I am very sorry to hear you lost your twins, that is awful. My circumstances is that I have had a fallopian tube removed in the past due to an Eptopic pregnancy and my other is blocked or damaged, I don't have anything else wrong, Im not sure what this will mean for me. I am 29.
Hi Danielle
I hope your feeling a bit better now.
On our forms we opted to have two eggs transferred if we could, it s a disclaimer which you sign when you first go in for the ivf treatment. Doctors and Nurses have there own opinion and different districts may work differently.
We understood the higher risks of having problems with Multiple births, and we was told it would only be advised if the fertility unit felt that we should try having two transferred. We was told having another embryo transferred gives you another 10% chance of getting pregnant but obviously a higher chance of getting twins.
At our fertility clinic 75% of all successful pregnancies from a two embryo transfer only have a singleton.
Cut a long story short, we had two transferred and only one implanted !
In our experience we would defiantly opt to have two transferred again in hope just one implanted, they are defiantly different opinions in this field , I think the best people to speak to would be the fertility unit who are doing the transfer for you, they will understand your personal situation and have the most experience in this field.
If there are any more questions , just ask .
All the best Danielle!
Hi Mrandmrsx, Thankyou for your reply, I am feeling alittle better now, just had my period and have got to say it was different, seemed to be more cramping that lasted abit longer in days and I noticed little clotting but I think it has almost finished now which means my hormones should be calmed down now. I am really considering having the 2 frozen Blastocysts transferred, as you mentioned above if you take the chance then at least one of them will implant. Did you have a frozen transfer or did you have a fresh transfer with 2. Its hard to understand at the minute because I don't know anything about the sucsess rates with frozen embryos, I want to be positive but I also need some reassurance.
Hi Danielle
Im Glad you feeling better.
Our embies where transferred at 3 days by icsi we did not make Blast. We are more or less the same age.
I think you have a really good good chance especially with the amount you have in the embie Bank, I did some research and successfully thawed embryo's are as good as they was before they was frozen. I hope this settles your mind.
You've done great so far don't think getting a BFN is a bad thing, think of what you have achieved ! I was told by the Nurse that to get a blast stage embryo you had to be very lucky, you have done better than lucky you have won the Embryo lottery, you jammy dodger and next time its going to work !!!
Have you checked out fertility friends online ? its a much bigger forum site and you will probably be able to speak to people at the same stage, it does take time to get around the forum site because it is so big.
Take care x
