7 weeks pregnant and lost symptoms.

I had some brown discharge 2weeks ago and when scanned this week I measured 6+3 and baby had strong heartbeat. However scan showed small area of bleeding in my uterus. I have been prescribed progesterone and will be scanned again at 8weeks. Since starting them my pregnancy symptoms have lessened. Is this normal?

Hi pswhiteside. It is always worrying if you have any sort of a bleed early on in pregnancy. However, it is a common thing to happen. Hopefully the progesterone will settle things down and ensure that the lining of your womb remains sufficient to sustain your little one. Just rest as much as you can for now and don’t do any lifting. Remember too that brown blood is “old” blood so hopefully all will settle down again. Fingers crossed for you that all is improved at your 8/40wk scan. Kind regards. Diane

thinking of you, have been through similar. it is not a fun time, and very stressful, rest up as much as you can and keep doing what the doctors have requested. if you have any further bleeding, do let them know. Focus on the strong heartbeat, that is a really encouraging thing. Fingers crossed for you.
