Hi, I personally would avoid international travel even if it's in Europe as I wouldn't want to risk any clots or going in to early spontaneous labour. Plus if anything goes wrong and/or you have reduced movements you will not be able to visit triage. Maybe go on a short weekend staycation with your husband or a longer staycation during half-term? There are so many places in the UK that you can consider from sightseeing to pampering. I hope you find a decent break away. You could consider driving to France via channel tunnel, I've been through France and Belgium and it's not too far. Whatever you decide to do, stay hydrated and monitor baby movements. Wishing you a well in your pregnancy x
I am in a very similar situation currently in week 27 and really wanted to have a babymoon but was back and forth on it. Depending on the airline you would likely need a doctor's letter to fly at 32 weeks in any case so speak to your doctor first. We opted to not fly and book last minute to be on the safe side. The reality of how I am now feeling in the pregnancy (tired with energy generally quite low after having gone through a pretty amazing 2nd trimester and recently low iron and possible gestational diabetes), plus other life circumstances mean we opted to scrap the original two week trip and go for a 6 day short break this Friday. I am still super excited but no if I had booked in advance we would have had to have cancelled our original plans so glad we waited. Whatever you decide (fly, train, drive, short, long even a nice hotel where you live) definitely do something but be realistic and listen to your medical advice. Hope you have a great Baby moon!
Hey lovely you know I love a holiday and even went during the 2ww but I think if I didn’t need to I wouldn’t at that stage of 32 weeks but defo ask your doctor and midwife their thoughts 🤗 such a shame you can’t get away now as 2nd trimester or early 3rd is safest time to fly they say and short haul would still have some nice weather xx
Hi, I was 32 weeks yesterday and am currently on our ‘baby moon’ in Spain. Got a fit to fly letter signed by the midwife who didn’t ask any questions. I’ve been flying quite a bit throughout my pregnancy due to work but of course it’s a personal choice and depends very much on how you are feeling. Enjoy whatever you decide x
