Feeling rough 11 weeks 6days ish pregnant. Also coping with sickness and food aversions.

Hey all.

I’m 11weeks and 6 days pregnant and for what feels like many weeks now I’ve felt sick (basically all the time), had very bad food aversions and have had headaches on and off. But I feel like the last week everything has increased, more frequent headaches and a feeling of being under the weather (a bit like before you get a cold), and very achey. It’s exhausting and I’m wondering if it’s normal.

It’s been hard to eat properly due to the food aversions and feeling sick (I’m never actually sick thankfully), so I’m wondering if I’m just really run down. Or perhaps this is just what pregnancy looks like for me. I am eating but perhaps it’s a more basic and less varied diet than usual.

Does anyone else feel like this, especially the under the weather bit and aching?

Also, how are people coping with this persistent sickness… any tips? any good meal ideas? I feel a bit unclear about what I may take to try and help, such as ginger tea, some sites say it’s fine some say it’s not.

I’m not complaining , I'm thrilled to be in my position, I’m just looking for some reassurance and perhaps ideas.

Thanks all!

And hope all is well for everyone x

It sounds normal - I slept whenever I could fit the first few months, and hashbrowns were about the only thing I could stomach. You'll get through!! It massively improved around 12-14 weeks for me xx

I’m the same headache are awful for me I suffer from migraines so I feel like it’s become worse from 10weeks, I feels sick all day too but manage to eat and it’s a bit better but worse at night. Magnesium supplement and pure encapsulation vitamin b6 will help with sickness, eat little and often whatever you can stomach, a bit of sea salt butter and crackers are good. I think it will get better from 12 weeks I hope x I also use homeopathic for BBC sickness but that’s really a personal choice x hope you feel better soon xx

As posts say very common in early pregnancy but should get better hopefully by 16 weeks Might be an idea to discuss your concerns with your midwife Meantime make sure drinking enough fluids [ dehydration can cause headaches + feeling out of sorts ] avoid foods and smells that make you feel sick Eat little and often -try dry toast or ginger biscuits[ thought to help reduce feeling sick ] first thing in the morning Get plenty of rest

Look after your self

I feel you... I'm 9w5d today and from last 2 weeks I am extremely miserable. Nausea, feeling exhausted quickly - today after taking basket with laundry upstairs I had to lay down and get some rest 🙈 I was unlucky to even be sick for few days. And food aversion is awful, everything seems disgusting but what I'm doing is just trying to eat small amount of foods which are acceptable - like for 2 days I was eating buns 😅 I am wearing acupressure bands for "morning sickness", drinking mint-ginger herbal tea etc and resting plenty

11+5 and feeling pretty much the same except actually being sick most days. I was actually worse with my little boy a couple of years ago and got anti sickness meds cos I couldn’t keep anything down but this time I am managing to keep food down (but not liquid) so I’m eating ice poles and ice lollies to stay hydrated and it also settled my stomach in case that helps you xx

10 + 6 and constantly feel tired with on and off nausea all day! Some days it’s worse some days it’s better. I find not letting myself get hungry helps, frequent snacking and grazing, eat when I fancy it rather than meal times. My diet hasn’t been the best because I have so many food aversions and the thought of eating it makes me feel queasy! I would also say headaches have ramped up for me over the last week or so. Hope you feel better soon! X

Hi all! Thanks so much for the messages.

I invested in crackers as suggested and I think they’ve been a bit of a game changer, just nibbling on those when I feel sick has helped. And thankfully I’ve been spared feeling as bad as I did over the weekend so I feel a little brighter.

Hope you’re all managing. It’s a crazy journey isn’t it!

Sending you all my best wishes and thanks again for the support and advice xxx
