6+4 today and had a scan after another large bleed at the weekend but still pregnant and they saw baby and the heartbeat (measured 6+3 which they said was fine).
After so many early losses and one last year with slow growth at 9 weeks coupled with all the bleeding this time (which they can’t see a cause for!) I’m so scared to get my hopes up but seeing the heartbeat has sparked that hope and excitement that I have felt in a long time! How do people keep the balance?? I feel like I’m a total riot lately and with the nausea starting to hit I’m absolutely not a functioning adult at this point!
Back next week for another scan 🤞🏽

Congratulations on seeing the heartbeat!!! Your success rate jumps once you see the heartbeat so you’re right to start hoping, and even self-refer to antenatal care. Then the success rate increases with every passing week from here so fingers crossed!
I was one day behind as well after a massive bleeding round with big clots that took me to the a&e at 6+ 2 (mine was due to a haematoma that they couldn't even spot at the IVF clinic with their shitty scanners, but it was clear as day when I went to the EPU and they scanned me with their state of the art machines). After that big bleeding session I’ve continued bleeding brown lightly for the next 2 weeks and the scan yesterday was absolutely fine and the baby measured exactly 8 + 1 as it should. In my case, the haematoma just decided to come out instead of reabsorb. They said it may heal by week 12, or it can even take longer and prescribed me Cyclogest up to 16 weeks!
I imagine you’re taking progesterone and I wanted to mention that Lubion for example has vaginal bleeding as a common side effect and that one can’t even irritate the cervix, which is what most people say about Cyclogest. The progesterone itself can cause unexplained bleeding. But I can totally understand your worries and the further away you get from a scan, the more stress you are likely to feel. So I’m pleased you have another scan next week.
Do you mean how you balance life with pregnancy symptoms? Yeah, I was a mess for a few weeks after my positive, mostly exhausted out of my mind, couldn't focus on anything. Luckily work wasn’t too busy and then my energy all came back last week, so symptoms come and go. Now I can be much more productive at work. Nausea differs from person to person, but I found that mine pops up when I’m hungry, so I make sure to have snacks (pretzels, crackers) around or in my bag at all times. Ginger tea helps lots as well. And don’t force yourself to eat anything that makes you feel queasy, give the body whatever you can stomach for now 😆 even with nausea, some days are better than others and you can get more stuff done on those days. The very best of luck! Xx
Aww wonderful news for you yesterday and yes I had forgot about the success rate increasing after you’ve heard a heartbeat thank you for sharing that!
Oh I am actually stocked up on what helps me with the nausea thing (weirdly it’s ice poles and a certain micro frozen pasta meal 🤣) had it up to at least 20 weeks with my little boy it is more the insanity I can’t cope with I’m actually not even sure how much is sick with worry with this bleeding and how much is pregnancy related!!
With my hematoma with my son the bleeding finally stopped at 10 weeks and it really was a relief! I hope it heals for you soon. Thank you soooo much for all your kind words and support 💜
