Scared I'm not pregnant any more.

Hi Everyone - I hope you are ok.

This is such an anxious time.

I am about 4.5 weeks pregnant, I have been experiencing cramps of varying intensity. I worry when I have them and worry when I don't. I have been referred to early pregancy unit so waiting for that.

I was constipated for about a week. I drank mint tea all day on sunday and now im not constipated any more?! This also worries me because on my failed transfer this happened. (I didnt drink tea just suddenly had bowel movements after being constipated)

Cramps have been really period pain like the past two days.

I am taking progesterone so that would stop any bleeding too I guess. I wouldnt know if id lost the pregnancy?

Dont know what Im expecting anyone to say - just feels better to say it!

Hi lovely,

This wait is worse than the first isn't it. Try not to compare to previous experiences - every time is different.

I know nothing can really help at this point but there is no reason why it wouldn't be progressing.

Sending hugs xx

I would not worry because this can be common in early pregnancy for many. Hopefully you will get seen at the early pregnancy unit soon. They will perform an transvaginal scan. It's still quite early to hear heartbeat but you will likely see a gestational sac (or 2). If you have bleeding and/or shoulder pain please go to a&e because this could be a a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. You will seen quicker. I'm speaking from experience x

I know how worried you must be but if they've got you under the care of the EPU this early that's really good. I don't think cramps or constipation, or not, though are things to worry about on their own - on my natural pregnancy I didn't know I was pregnant and had very intense period symptoms around the time my period would have been due, including cramps. I also had what I thought was a light period. Had I known I was pregnant I would have panicked. I experienced very differnet symptoms or lack of symptoms on each of my IVF transfers and there wasn't any link to BFP/BFN or outcome, so even though it's really hard, try not to second guess. Hopefully the EPU will do HCGs for you along with a scan as that can tell them a lot.

Thank you. I have an appointment for scan with early pregnancy on Friday. It’s going to be about 5 weeks so maybe not be able to see anything x

I had an early scan (around 6 weeks) and they couldn't see much - just that there was a yolk sac and the embryo was in the right place (as in, in the womb, not ectopic etc). That worried me abd they wouldn't repeat it for 2 weeks but at the later scan it was much clearer. HCGs, repeated, may be able to give them and you more info in the meantime.

Hope all goes well with your scan today x

I’m wondering if you’ve got your weeks wrong as you’d only just know you were pregnant at 4.5 weeks. You count from the first day of your period (or what would be your period if ivf). If you’re perhaps 6/7 weeks they will be able to reassure you on a scan and as long as there’s no blood, cramps are very common, in fact they’re a symptom of pregnancy that for some reason is never told to anyone! Fingers crossed it’s all okay.

Okay so it’s really early. As long as they’re not accompanied with blood it honestly can be very normal. I remember taking paracetamol. Which you can take. X

5and a half weeks pregnant - too early to see heartbeat. Need to have scans every 10 days to check everything is ok and if it’s progressing - cos I’m taking progesterone the pregnancy wouldn’t naturally end. There’s a high risk of it not being viable - but all looks good for now. They said that in the case it is not viable they are able to do genetic testing.
