Hi, I’m almost 10 weeks and have been suffering from a terrible cough for the past 10+ days which I’m just not able to shift.
I’ve been coughing so much that I’ve managed to pull a muscle in my back (just to add to all the cough + pregnancy symptoms!).
I spoke to my GP who has prescribed me a 7 day course of antibiotics (Amoxicillin) for my cough which is thought to be a respiratory infection. I’m told the antibiotics are fine to take but I’m naturally really nervous as I’m still so early in my pregnancy.
Just wondering if any of you ladies have been in a similar situation and what you decided to do?

hey - I had bad tonsilitus and was prescribed and took antibiotics. I was pregnant and didn’t actually realise it - thought it was a very late period. Everything was absolutely fine. I understand your concerns as I’d have been the same if I’d have known xx
Hi . Try not to worry about having antibiotics, lots of ladies in a similar position need them too. Bang will be safe, just get better. Honey and lemon is safe, and also a steam inhalation can help too. Paracetamol is k too, but no anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen.Hope you’re soon ok. Diane
