spotting and cramps

hey ladies

I’m 12+4 with a baby boy. Got our NIPT results this week and everything is low risk.

Yesterday I woke up to pink discharge which briefly turned into red blood, enough to show on a pad.

After that it’s turned brown and it’s still going. I’ve had mild cramps also.

I went to a specialist ER yesterday and they didn’t seem too concerned, the baby was ok and moving around, heartbeat was ok.

I’ve got a scan next week at 13+2.

Just looking for reassurance that this pregnancy can be ok as it nearly broke me yesterday seeing that blood. The doctors didn’t say what caused it, and didn’t seem keen to explore it. They did do an internal exam and my cervix was high and closed.

thanks all x

Hi there. Sorry you are having such a worrying time. It’s not uncommon for bleeding to occur in first trimester and sometimes there isn’t a reason behind it. If you have had a very recent scan to confirm all ok and cervix is still closed I’d say all is fine. Try to relax and I’m sure the bleeding will stop. You must be worried sick though naturally xx

Thanks for responding. I am hopeful it will be ok, it’s just horrible the stress it causes! X
