I had my 28 week appointment yesterday and all was well apart from my urine sample having traces of protein and a fast pulse (109). My urine has been sent to the lab for further tests. BP was fine and I’ve no symptoms of an infection.
I know heart rate increases during pregnancy - when I had my son it went from a resting rate of about 68 to 80-ish but this time it’s rarely under 100. Cut to today and I feel really horrible. Shaky and even when lying down my heart rate is around 130. Saw stars when getting up but they went after a minute or 2. I guess what I’m wondering is if there’s any point me getting it checked out if all looked ok yesterday and I’m still waiting for the urine results back? Baby girl is going crazy in there kicking and moving around. Not sure if that’s a good sign or not??

HiSolly. Sorry to hear this. However, you do need to get checked out for any urine infection. Hopefully that’s all it is and can be treated with antibiotics. Hope all soon settles down. Diane
I agree re getting checked out again. Blood pressure can change really quickly apparently. I was in triage last week and they did a blood pressure profile where they monitor it every 10 minutes for an hour, might be worth getting something like that done. Hope things settle and you get some reassurance. X
hiya I would get it checked out 60-80 is the normal heart rate it can be higher in pregnancy but if your up at 130 whilst resting it may be an infection of some kind. Best to have it looked at xxx
I agree with the others Solly, if in doubt about ANYTHING best to call someone. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about, but I'm sure you WILL worry if you don't get checked, if you see what I mean!
Have they checked your bloods lately? You aren't anaemic or anything? I had a couple of funny turns a month back, exactly where you are, feeling dizzy, clammy, faint, and heart palpitations, and on my next blood test they said I was anaemic. Anyway, wishing you all the best, let us know how you get on xx
Hey Solly, yes you must get checked out at triage, I had these symptoms ( without raised blood pressure) in the very early stages of preeclampsia. I very much hope this is not the case for you and it isn’t always but it just meant extra monitoring ( once a week) for me and we delivered at 37 weeks. Any questions, feel free to drop me a message.x All the best.
Thanks gang for being wonderful as ever! I did go and get it checked out. They monitored baby who was absolutely fine (although I did have a major wobble when they couldn’t find her heart beat for a long time). Urine, bloods & BP all normal. They've booked me in for an ECG on Tue for reassurance but the dr thinks it’s anxiety related xx
