So I'm just over 12 weeks had a light red bleed early evening yesterday and now just a bit of red spotting. I've been having cramps aswell. I have my NHS 12 week scan tomorrow afternoon and EPU told me to wait until then as they can't see me any sooner. I know bleeding in pregnancy is common I had a very heavy bleed at 6 weeks that turned out to be a hematoma. This just feels different I had a bad feeling on Saturday and just feel like it's all over now. Not sure what I'm asking here just need to get my feelings out as I know waiting till tomorrow to find out for sure is going to be agony.

12 weeks and spotting

So sorry you’re going through this! I had a pretty eventful first trimester myself with a large haematoma at 6 weeks and another bout of bleeding at 9 weeks due to the placenta growing over the cervix. It was a lot.
On a practical level, if you call the local EPU, they may be able to get you in today (edit: sorry just seen now that you already called them). Or you could go private as well. A&E can’t do much but check whether your cervix is still closed and run a whole battery of blood tests and an ECG on you. Waiting until tomorrow is your best bet for getting any sort of useful information.
Try to take it easy until then, drink lots of water. If I remember well, I did have lots of ligament pains at 12 weeks and I felt I was even pulling muscles in my bump with the pain lasting for a couple of days. So I really hope it’s something like that for you too. Fingers crossed!
So sorry to hear this, could you get a private scan? I know the waiting would kill me and I know I’d rather know what’s going on. I agree with raverg- a&e won’t do anything really, could be worth calling EPU and trying again, nothing to lose!
Hope everything turns out ok, could be a haemotoma again. Keeping everything crossed for you xx
Hope you’re doing ok. I’ve had red bleeding and spotting on and off and I have had numerous scans to be reassured that the baby is fine. So it doesn’t mean the worst. But glad you’re getting checked out.
Hope it’s gone well today.
thinking of you and hope all is well at the scan today 💜 xx
Thanks all for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately it wasn't good news looks like baby stopped growing a few days after my 8 week scan so I've had a missed miscarriage. Have an appointment on Friday at EPU to discuss management options.
So sorry to hear this! I’ve been thinking of you yesterday hoping it was going to be okay 😔 what a shitty final blow from 2024! Please take the time you need, focus on yourself and your self-care. Hope the management is straightforward and you can move on from this and towards happier news in 2025. Big hugs!
I am so sorry to hear this. And I know there is nothing anyone can say right now to make you feel better but I didn’t want to just scroll by. Take your time to grieve. It is just so unfair and heartbreaking.
