HiI'm trying to book a physio appointment for tomorrow as I'm in agony with my back. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I wanted to know, are all physios trained in antenatal physiotherapy? Or do you have to specifically have to ask? I can book a number of appointments for tomorrow but don't know whether I should.
Many thanks

Hi! I had lower back pains during my pregnancy too. I first went to a regular physio and have to admit, they weren't of much help at all. The exercises they gave me didn't address the pain. I then booked with a special pregnancy physio and she was amazing. She gave me exercises and recommended that my husband does a massage of the area when I am in discomfort. She also advised on how to support myself with pillows during the night (the pregnancy pillows on the market didn't do it for me). I did everything she said and it made a huge difference - I used her tips throughout the second and third trimesters. So my advice is, book a pregnancy physio, they are quite busy but worth the wait and extra effort. Good luck!
