UPDATE 3.6.22: I just wanted to say a massive thank you so much for all of the kind messages and words of support 🙏. Our beautiful boy survived 5.5 hours of open heart surgery on Wed. We we were told by the surgeons that “it went smoothly”, which was a huge relief. However, it is still very early days & he is currently in intensive care an induced coma for his own safety (which is so upsetting to see 💔). So the next few days will be critical for him. But we remain hopeful that we are one step closer to finally bringing our rainbow baby home 🌈❤️
So this is a pretty weird update to write. Who knows which group I’m supposed to post it in. Anyway, as I know people have asked to be updated I thought best to let people know that our beautiful son has arrived safely (via planned c section last Wed at 39 weeks). He has been in hospital ever since due to having a severe heart defect (TGA 🫀). He has been doing amazingly well considering. I have been expressing and he has been having it through a tube and putting on weight nicely, which we are hoping may help to prepare him for what’s to come. Tomorrow we have to hand him over to the surgeons who will perform major open heart surgery (arterial switch) for 4-5 hours in an attempt to fix his heart. We are obviously beside ourselves. So incredibly happy to have finally got our boy after so many years of trying 🌈 . Yet we are terrified of losing him. Please send all the positive vibes and luck our way for tomorrow. We are just hoping that our beautiful little fighter keeps doing what he does best ❤️
