I went for my scan yesterday at 7 weeks 4 days after a single FET in early August (5 day 3bc embryo).
While the consultant was scanning, I could tell by her face there was a bombshell coming. She saw two embryos, which was a huge surprise and I was not expecting that at all. (I'm still in shock about this to be honest). But then she went on to say that the two embryos were sharing the same amniotic sac. So I asked if that was normal, and apparently it's not. It's very rare even for twin pregnancies.
It was lovely to see my babies on screen and hear their heartbeats, but now I'm super anxious after reading on Dr Google that this will be a high-risk pregnancy with potential complications as the twins will share a placenta. I called the midwife at my local hospital in the afternoon to get booked in and I have my first appointment next week.
The anxiety and rollercoaster never stops...
Has anyone else experienced this? A little apprehensive about a twin pregnancy too as I'm quite petite but will try and take one day at a time.
