Am 36+4, randomly I’ve got pins and needles/numbness in only one finger! The middle finger on my right hand. When I’ve been asleep and wake up that finger is so stiff I literally have to unbend it and open it up with my other hand (I tend to sleep with my hands balled up under my chin in sideways position) - but today the numbness and tingling hasn’t left my middle right finger all day long.
Is this carpal tunnel? It’s odd it’s only one finger and doesn’t even look swollen. What do you think it is and is there anything I can do?

This happened to me in my last pregnancy but it was my thumb. I ended up wearing a wrist brace to sleep and it really helped. It went away immediately post birth. Xx
Hi there. I also had exactly the same thing with the same finger when I was pregnant. I also slept in the exact same position as you have described. When my little boy arrived in January the issue with my finger resolved. I spoke to my doctor about it at my six week check up postpartum and he said it was trigger finger and that they can give a steroid injection if it doesn’t resolve. However I haven’t required this. I hope this helps. Good luck with your pregnancy. X
Thanks! Glad I’m not alone. It’s getting better a bit more the more I massage it and find it worse first thing in morning when my hands have been bunched up at night. Good to know too they can always do that if it doesn’t resolve long term x
