Spotting 6 Weeks Pregnant Advice

Hi I’m 6 weeks pregnant from a frozen embryo transfer, I’ve started bleeding and I’m really scared it’s all over.

I had started getting sickness and I have sore boobs.

Scan isn’t until next Monday 12th February and I don’t know what to do.

Any advice, how much bleeding is ok?

Hi, sorry to hear this. This can be common in the first trimester I read. Call your epu unit or if heavy bleeding go to a&e. Epu will probably ask you how many pads you have used in 1 hour.

Best wishes

If you read my post/comment history you will see my experience with early bleeding. In short, I started having bleeding and some cramping quite early on and this continued until around 9 weeks. No definite cause was found but I suspect it was irritation from the pessaries. All was fine and my little boy is now 6 months old 😊

I think if it's fresh red blood then that is when there might be some concerns but even then I have read stories of people with heamatomas. Can you speak to your clinic? Mine arranged for HCG blood tests to reassure me things were still on track.

Thank you, it’s just so scary!

I’ve messaged my clinic so hoping they’ll get back to me tomorrow.

Congratulations on your little boy. X

I had heavy fresh red bleeding and lost lots of clots. I bleed for weeks. Kept thinking it was all over but luckily all was fine. My clinic wouldn’t see me until the official scan date but the EPU at my hospital were amazing and got me in weekly for scans. My little one is now 4 months old. I did have 5 weeks bed rest. They said I had a haematoma above the pregnancy sack. Which luckily my body absorbs by 12 week scan.

Really hope everything is ok for you x

Thanks, I’ve messaged the clinic and they’ve said bleeding is quite common at this stage and just to monitor it.

I don’t want to cause any fuss but it’s all making me so anxious. I’ll see how I go today and I might contact the EPU unit. X

Absolutely normal to be so anxious! I was so so nervous. Honestly the EPU were amazing and so understanding, explain your situation. It gave me so much piece of mind to go in for extra scans.

Stay positives lovely Xx
