Back ache and low aches 8 weeks pregnant?

Hi all,

Just looking for reassurance as I have awful anxiety. I’m almost 8 weeks and have almost constant ache in my lower spine and tailbone plus some low front aches. I’m just getting really anxious it’s a bad sign.

Anyone had similar?

Hi Doglover5, its very common to get backache in early pregnancy as the ligaments in your body become softer and stretch to prepare you for labour. This can put a strain on the joints of your lower back and pelvis. I had backache and cramping until around 15/16 weeks then it disappeared. Now I'm 31 weeks and backache has started coming back! Try not to worry (easier said than done I know) see if you can find something to occupy your mind maybe try a new hobby, plan little treats for yourself and partner, binge watch something. Anything that stops the negative thinking. Good luck x

Hi Doglover. Probably just down to the round ligaments starting to move a little and is quite common. Speak to your midwife for reassurance. Diane
