21 week growth scan - baby measuring small

Hello All, I suppose I am posting this for some advice/reassurance. After a long infertility and ICSI journey, we finally managed to conceive our little miracle baby (it’s a little girl!)

I had the 21 week anomaly scan last week and we were told that while all looks ok, the baby is measuring very small for dates (10th percentile) with an occipitofrontal diameter in the 6th percentile. We were booked to return for a growth scan at 32 weeks, but that feels like forever away.

I’ve really struggled with this pregnancy. I’m currently off work sick the last 4 weeks with influenza (A & B), despite being vaccinated. I am still coughing and still getting occasional fevers and just a bit miserable. That’s after 2 courses of steroids, 2 antibiotics and and inhaler. I am also anaemic and finding the iron tablets SO difficult to take, on top of existing nausea and vomiting and reflux. I know my diet hasn’t been as good as it could be but I am really struggling to get anything at all in!

I am just wondering if it’s normal to have these small measurements at the anomaly scan or should I be worried? Should I book a private scan and if so, when is a good time to do that?

Thanks in advance for all your wonderful support and advice. 💖

My little miracle measured on the 10th percentile throughout my pregnancy. Even at my scan 6 days before he was delivered they estimated him to weigh 5lb 8oz at birth & he was 6lb 10oz. My consultant wasn't worried as long as he was growing each time I was scanned xx

Babies grow at different rates and some are are simply smaller than average and it is good they are keeping a close eye on you by repeating the scan Just look after yourself -eat little and often and drink plenty of fluids There is a facebook group you might find helpful facebook.com/groups/Pregnan...

Maybe have a chat with your midwife about your concerns about the scans and how you are feeling - she may have some helpful hints and tips about your pregnancy concerns

Good luck and hope you feel better soon
