Hi all, I was wondering if any of you can share your experience and or advice.
My sister is 34 weeks today. She has been for her ultrasound scan in Italy and it seems that the baby while growing in length and having normal heartbeat etc, is not really growing in weight. The estimated weight is between 1.5kg and 1.7kg. Her doctor said that she needs to repeat the scan early next week with a more advanced ultrasound machine but that this might signal a problem with the placenta in which case the baby would need to be delivered earlier. Has any of you experienced something similar or delivered a baby earlier ? Any advice ? She is incredibly worried

Hiya. I've not had what your sister has, but my twins came spontaneously at 34 weeks on Monday! We're in the hospital still as they are premature and needed some time under the he lamps for jaundice, need to learn to feed well and get their weight up but no complications otherwise. They're talking about discharging us on Tuesday all being well.
The woman in the bed opposite me had her baby delivered by planned c section at 34 weeks due to suspected hole in the heart, and he's fine too! So please reassure her, babies born at 34 weeks are strong enough to come so early if necessary. If there's problems eg with the placenta in the womb, might even be a good idea. Best of luck xxx
