6 weeks pregnant and covid positive 😢

Hi all,

I am 6 weeks pregnant from our second round of ICSI. Today I tested positive for covid, I feel ill with a high temperature.

I will call my clinic in the morning, but I suppose I'm looking for reassurance. I've been so scared of this going wrong and this is just topping it off, spent the evening crying and scared I've ruined my chances.

Thanks in advance x

Don’t worry you’ll be fine. I got covid at 7 weeks after this ICSI cycle and I’m now 15 weeks and baby is fine as am I. It just added to my exhaustion during the first trimester. If you have a fever with it you’ll want to manage that with paracetamol but it’s really nothing to worry about I promise xx

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm taking paracetamol every 4hrs. The clinic made a big point about not catching covid, so they've scared me a little. We have our first scan next week, I'm really hoping I'm negative by then. It's been such a long wait! X

I got it too, called the midwife line and they sent a pack out to monitor pulse, temp and some blood thinning injections. baby was fine x

I got Covid at 8 weeks and sailed through it. No issues with baby whatsoever.. don’t panic… you and baby will be fine 🤞🏽

Thank you. Just wish my temperature would stay down, even with paracetamol it's still high x

I had COVID at around 25 weeks. Called midwife in panic who said so many women go through it now that they don't do any additional monitoring, unless you notice any worrying symptoms. The most annoying thing was that paracetamol was the only thing I could take, while DH had all sorts of drugs and cough syrups...Try to manage the fever with paracetamol, drink lots, and rest as much as you can and don't panic! Fingers crossed you recover quickly.

I had a UTI at 15 weeks with really high fever. All fine now & baby doing well (19 weeks). Don’t worry about the fever, it’s unlikely to cause any issues. Just stay hydrated and mobile if you can. Get well soon!!

Thank you! I still feel really poorly today but temperature is coming down. We have our first scan on Wednesday, so I'm really hoping I'm negative by then. I need the reassurance more than ever! X
