Hay fever and Pregnancy

Hi ladies, just wanted to ask if anyone has hay fever and is taking meds which ok to use in pregnancy. I went to the pharmacy and they gave me some tablets over the counter but they say on the back no suitable for pregnant women. Any help would be great xx 😘

No but am suffering!!! I recall asking the midwife years ago with my first and she recommended not to take anything but possibly things have moved on now so interested to hear any responses!

I asked my clinic this and they said piriton only . It’s a diff kind to the other two types which are ceterizine and loratadine (cannot rem how to spell these ) ha ha

Loratadine is the recommended one for pregnancy (according to the NHS). Cetirizine is a maybe and others a no without prescription. If in doubt, BUMPS is the gold standard site for checking out specific drugs. Xx

Suffering here too and it’s miserable! Pretty much all you can do is use a saline spray to clear out your nose and sinuses which just washes away the pollen and you can use a barrier like hay max to try and capture it before it enters your nose. I don’t find either brilliant but better than nothing. I’m worst when it’s tree pollen, usually I get better towards the end of the summer.

Had the same when i went to pharmacy - they said I shouldn't take anything apart from saline and that blocking cream. Neither touched it and it was getting so bad that i decided to do a little google and, as others say, NHS site says Loratadine is ok. Taken it every day since and makes a huge difference and means i get more sleep :)
