Diagnosed with NAFLD with NASH then NOTHING

So here I am a year after I was diagnosed with:

Borderline Hepatomegaly.

Hepatic steatosis.

Diffuse abnormal hepatic hyperechogenicity is present.

Nothing has been said or done from my Dr regarding this. I was told to GOOGLE it and make changes to my diet and lose weight. I have made several changes and still randomly get a huge swollen belly and pains in my right quadrant.

Since I feel totally neglected by my primary care Dr regarding this, what kind of Doctor do I want to ask him for a referral? Gastro is who I am thinking. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, you definitely need to see a good Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. PCP’s are clueless about liver disease. I would recommend you do this sooner rather than later. The swollen belly could be ascites. Best Health to you.

Only see a hepatologist, they specialize in the liver.
