Hello Friends - I received fibroscan results today from a nurse by telephone. She was unable to answer any wuestions, so it was a bit frustrating. All I was told is that I came in at an F0 and my CAP is 249 showing hepatic steatosis. I have no idea what CAP is and all she would say is its a measure of fat in my liver. If I need any additional information, looks like I will beed to hunt down my doctor. Any feedback from this community would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mojo
Not much info there but a little background. The FibroScan measures two things, the amount of fat and the stiffness of the liver. Your stiffness score was low which docs interpret as not having NASH, the most serious phase of fatty liver disease. The CAP is just the scale they use and 249 indicates some, but not a large amount of fat. The scale goes up to 400. So you have liver fat and you should pay attention to that and see about adopting a healthier lifestyle so that you don't progress but your doc isn't going to get excited about those results.

thank you - appreciate the feedback. Should I call back and get any other information? Based on some of the infernet research I condicted, fatty liver is not somethibfb that can be cured but hiw about reduced? I already made the healthy diet chamges in November and the last alcoholic beverage I hade was November 30th. I lost 17 lbs. since then and my BMI dropped from 33% to 27%. But are there any supplements or other guidance that can drop tjat 249 fown below 238?
Fatty liver can be completely eliminated through a low carb diet and limiting saturated fat. The thing is, it needs to be a real lifestyle change not a diet. It took years to get where you are and it will take time to reverse it but for most people it really is about eating more wisely. It took me about 18 months.
I finally hot my report back. Here are the findings Any feedback is appreciated
