My fibroscan results are V Median 1.44 m/s= Metavir score F2-F3. Can anyone tell me what this means? I see a lot of people talking about cap scores but I don’t see any wording like that on my fibroscan report. What’s a cap score? My results also say VIQR/Median 18%, along with a bunch of other numbers… very confusing.

You apparently got a liver stiffness score using a competitor of Fibroscan that the new ultrasounds are getting. It measures the speed of the shear wave produced by the ultrasound and reports in meters per second. They convert that to the F score system. VIQR is a measure of the quality of the test and most docs say under 20% is OK. A CAP score is a measure of fat content of the liver.
F2-F3 indicates the level of fibrosis (scarring). F1 is no fibrosis, F2 is moderate, F3 is severe and F4 is cirrhosis.
CAP is a measure of the fat in your liver and is normally given as a score between 100 and 400.
The IQR/Median is essentially a measure of the accuracy of the scan, anything below 30% is good.
Talk to your Doctor about the results and ask them to interpret them.
