Bloods update

Hi all,

Back with an update.

I was diagnosed 5 months ago with NASH and F2 fibrosis (fibroscan and biopsy proven).

Since then I've big time changed my diet and I've managed to lose over a stone (was hoping for more but it's a journey).

My latest bloods show:

Serum Total proten 77g/L (previously the same)

Serum Albumin 45g/L (previously the same)

Serum globulin 31g/L (previously the same)

Serum alkaline phosphatase 105iu/L (previously 150iu/L)

Serum total bilirubin level 21umol/L (previously 20umol/L)

Serum ALT level 147iu/L (previously 340iu/L)

Triglycerdies 2.3mmol/L (previously 2.9mmol/L)

I have a repeat fibroscan booked for tomorrow. But can I take the above bloods to mean things are improving?

It is a slow journey and you need a doc to interpret these results but broadly, it is good news that the ALT is changing a lot as that suggests that less damage is happening in the liver but it does have to be interpreted in light of all of your other medical info.
