How well does fib4 correlate to other tests.

Can I ask how many peoples fib4 score correlated with further testing ie. fibroscan, MRE, C.T. I’m awaiting a fibroscan. My fib4 is .6 but have been quite unwell and lost a lot of weight. Worried.

It is a calculation of the probability that you have advanced fibrosis. There are a lot of ways a person can be ill and that is just one of them but statistically it says the answer will not be NASH fibrosis. That may or may not be comforting but is part of working toward a diagnosis.

Thank you. Does it still apply if the fatty liver was alcohol induced or are there better testing scores for this. Thank you

It was developed for NAFLD/NASH. There are some cellular differences with alcohol but scar tissue is probably the same so I'd expect it to apply but don't know of a particular study comparing the two.

Thank you. I have a fibroscan in a few days guess I’ll know more then.

So .6 is probability of advanced fibrosis? I’ve never been sure how the scoring works but I am 1.43 and was under the assumption that it was minimal scarring

No 0.6 is quite low. The cutoff of 1.3 is usually used to indicate a low risk. 1.43 is in the zone where more testing is indicated but is suggestive of some scarring. High risk is 2.67 and above.

No I think it’s very low. I’ve had an elastography which suggested F2 fibrosis. Gastro doesn’t believe it fromMy blood tests. I’m having a fibroscan Friday. Just wondered how accurate people had found it when compared to other results. Thanks

For anyone who finds this post in the future I just wanted to update it.My fibroscan score came back as 4.5kpa. This is in line with my fib 4 so for me they correlated well. Thanks for all the support. Now to get rid of this fatty liver.
