Best is relative, for what purpose? Liver stiffness MRE or liver MultiScan, liver fat PDFF, liver collagen chemistry probably NIS 4, broader blood based LIVERFASt, general screening Fibroscan. cheapest FIB 4. It all depends on exactly what question you are trying to answer and gets quite complicated but there are a number of tools before you get to biopsy.
