Hello all, during the early days of your fatty liver diagnosis, did you experience pain under back & front ribs? Did the pain go away for those of you who successfully changed diet and started exercising? Thanks for your responses!! John

Pain from non alcoholic fatty liver

Hi John
Pain under the ribs is a common complaint. The challenge is that you will hear that the liver has no pain nerves so can't feel pain. The situation is that there is a tough covering on the liver that does have pain nerves and problems with the organ can produce pain. The extent is very individual so there is no way to predict how it will go for you. Some people do succeed at resolve their problem and become mostly pain free. It is more common for that not to be the case but if you remove those things that are making the liver unhappy you will have your best chance of success.

Yes I had pain even though doctor said no pain with liver. And yes after two years it has gone away. If I eat or drink something I shouldn’t I get pain again (my own fought). Good luck- hang in there!!
Mine did eventually settle did. It took a couple of years. I didnt do anything in particular. I tried to make better choices. Rarely ate well as I dont feel like cooking anymore. I've slept a lot.i cant explain why. It does hurt on rare occasions get my fibrosis/cirrhosis tested by fibroscan at the end of the month. I'll write again when that happens.
I had pressure pains under my ribs like I did while pregnant. My abdomen would also swell if I ate dairy making the pain much worse.
